Overzicht
Corrosion Engineering is intended as an introductory course for technical and non-technical personnel that need to be aware of the causes, forms, and methods to prevent corrosion. Presented in a high level tutorial manner using specific examples of how and why materials corrode, the course provides an overview of the important aspects of corrosion. After an introduction to basic electrochemical reactions and the fundamental principles involved in any corrosion event, the commonly observed forms of corrosion are shown and described. The approaches to control and protect against corrosion are then presented, as are methods to test and evaluate the effectiveness of anti-corrosion practices as well as the extent of corrosion.
Doelstelling(en)
Learners who complete this course will receive a certificate of completion for 2.0 professional development hours.
